FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1
HOW MANY PEOPLE ON A SMALL-GROUP TOUR?
Don't be put off travelling in a small group - it's actually a great way to see India. It also means that we get access to fantastic guides at the key attractions. Tour groups sizes are limited to 12 guests, with some speciality tours a tad larger (no more than 20 guests). This is the perfect size for travelling.

WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE?
Spring (February/March) and Autumn (October/November) are the best times of year to be in India! Expect daily temperatures in the mid-late 20's. But it can get over 30 degrees too. Mornings are often a tad cooler, particularly in Rajasthan so do have at least one long pair of pants/leggings and a jersey. We tend to do pre-arranged activities in the morning to make the most of the cooler part of the day. It's definitely warmer in the south, but cooler up in the Western Ghats. The humidity is reasonably low, but again it can be a mixed bag. Weather tends to be quite settled with little rain. Pack a light jacket and an umbrella, but rain is rare at this time of year.

But, if you have good energy levels, a clean bill of health and are an enthusiastic traveller, then you will love travelling in India regardless of your age.

WHAT SHOULD I PACK?
Come prepared for warm weather. Modesty is key in India, so for ladies, long skirts, loose trousers and long shorts are best. It's appropriate to keep cleavage covered, but bare arms are fine (capped shoulders tops are best). For men, shorts and t-shirts please. No tank tops or jandals. Closer to departure time a packing list will be provided.

IS IT SAFE TO TRAVEL IN INDIA?
-
Like all countries, it's important that you are careful whenever you travel. Always be vigilant, monitor local media, and follow the advice of local authorities and All India Permit Tours. Some of our tours, such as Spice Odyssey visit destinations like Kashmir which have had a troubled history. But tourism has been an important part of the economy of the region, representing around 7% of GDP, and based on the scenic beauty (trekking and skiing) and a rich cultural heritage. Our programme in Kashmir keeps us close to Srinagar and away from disputed territory and we would never venture into the region if we felt it was unsafe in anyway.
